Where History Meets Natural Beauty

Welcome to Peleliu, an island that bears the scars of history and the beauty of nature, nestled in the heart of the Pacific Ocean. Join SoulTrips in an expedition that takes you through time, culture, and the captivating landscapes of Peleliu.

Unlocking Peleliu's Storied Past

Peleliu Island holds a significant place in World War II history, notably the Battle of Peleliu. Today, it stands as a testament to human resilience and the enduring spirit of a people who've witnessed the tumultuous pages of the past.

Present-Day Peleliu: A Tranquil Oasis

In the shadows of its tumultuous past, Peleliu is now a serene island with a close-knit community. A population of around 700 residents finds solace on its pristine shores, living amidst lush landscapes and azure waters. The Peleliu Elementary School opened in 1946, and had its second building open in 1966, with the first still in use, nurturing the minds of the next generation. Due to the low population, students from the Peleliu community will pursue further education in Palau High School in Koror, which is the Palau’s only public high school.

Peleliu's economy is a harmonious blend of fishing, agriculture, and an emerging tourism industry. Local communities engage in subsistence farming, while the island's historical significance continues to attract visitors from around the globe.
